Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenezon 2 September 1966)[3][4][5]) is an American and Mexican actress. Her film career began in Mexico in the telenovela Teresa, where she was a lead in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which resulted in an Ariel Award nomination. Through appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made herself a household name in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) and the film she also co-produced was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce, while starring in action-oriented pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the years following.
